Vancouver Improvised Music Meeting 2019 presents American violist Eyvind Kang and NYC based bassoonist Sara Schoenbeck. An impressive list of established and emerging members of Vancouver’s hotbox of improvisation will perform at this year’s event: Torsten Müller, Elisa Thorn, Brad Turner, Dylan van der Schyff and Jeff Younger. On Saturday, March 30 Barking Sphinx will host a public daytime workshop and Q&A sessions on improvisation with Eyvind Kang, Kenton Lowen and Lisa Miller. All events take place at 8EAST, the new home for Vancouver’s creative music community in the heart of the DTES.
